What is Walk of Wonders?

Walk of Wonders is a mesmerizing light & fire festival which guides its audience through a landscape of illuminated art installations and wandering performances, accompanied by a wondrous original musical score and interwoven with a tale of adventure and magic.

What is LIVE Night on Saturday 23rd?

LIVE night is the apex of excitement, bursting with energy and extra live performances for this one night only. From heart-pounding live music to whimsical theatrics and surprise pop-up dance floors, the atmosphere is alive with rhythm and beats. As the night stretches out with a later finish, the party vibe intensifies, inviting families and party goers alike to revel in the festivities and create unforgettable memories as The Return Journey takes you to a place you'll want to stop and linger a little longer. How long does Walk of Wonders take?

The loop through the grounds at Black Barn Vineyards is approximately 2 km and takes about an hour at a relaxed pace.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes. Walk of Wonders is an experience for people of all ages. For the little ones, you may want to bring a pram/pushchair as it's about a one hour walk.

Do I need a ticket for my child under 3?

No, children 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket.

Can I take photographs at Walk of Wonders?

Yes, anyone may take photos during their walk. Any professional equipment or photography must be pre-approved by management. Please get in touch with sarah@vesica.co.nz for more information.

Is it accessible to people with disabilities?

Most of the loop is on flat limestone paths and is accessible. Some parts of the walk will go through the vineyard and may be steep or slippery. These sections can be skipped if needed.

Will food and beverages be available for purchase?

Yes. Orton’s Catering will be offering a menu of seasonal favourites alongside a selection of wine & beverages from Black Barn Vineyards.

Can I bring my own food and drinks?

No, Walk of Wonders is a non-BYO event. There will be food and drink available for purchase in the Black Barn Grower’s Market Round and from Black Barn Bistro.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Walk of Wonders is an all-weather event and refunds will not be given due to poor weather conditions. Please be prepared for rain or shine.

Is there parking available at Black Barn Vineyards?

There will be limited car parking available on-site at BBV and an overflow car park approximately 300 metres from the entrance to BBV. Please follow instructions from the traffic management team on arrival.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are allowed but must be leashed the entire time. There will be flashing lights, lasers, sudden pyrotechnics and busy paths. Dogs that are easily spooked would not be appropriate.

How do I book the Walk & Dine Special?

- First, select your tickets for your night of choice. On the next page, you will find an option to add-on the Walk & Dine package with different time slots.

- If you have already booked your tickets, you can login to Eventfinda and click 'My Tickets.' Next to the order for the event, you will find a blue "Buy Add-Ons" button.

Remember, this special is only available as an add-on to an Adult ticket for Thursdays or Sundays.
